Whew! I met all my goals for April!
This is my favorite quilt that I've made, EVER! It was easy to piece. Check! It has my most favorite fabrics. Check! The quilting turned out beautifully. Check! I didn't buy any additional fabric for this quilt. Check! This was all in my stash, some of the first fabrics that I purchased when I started getting into this little hobby. I'll stop talking now and show you the pics...
This is Promenade by Riley Blake. All strips are 2.5", and the blocks are trimmed down to 12.5". This was the first fat quarter bundle I bought. I also used some half yards of various Kona solids.
The backing is pieced from various Heather Bailey and Amy Butler fabrics. The tan fabric is from Andover Fabrics.
I quilted the top in 2" hearts, drawing lines to make it all straight. Once washed, it turned out perfectly. This is the most dense quilting pattern that I have ever used. I'm getting more daring.
I had just enough 2.5" strips to make the binding. I love the scrappy binding. It works so well with this quilt.
Quilt Stats
Quilt Pattern: Strip piecing
Measurements: 70" x 70"
Fabrics: Promenade by Riley Blake and various Kona solids
Thread: Aurifil for piecing and binding
Binding: Promenade by Riley Blake scraps
Quilting: Free motion 2" hearts quilted by me using Isacord thread in linen
Backing: Heather Bailey, Amy Butler, and Andover Fabrics
Don't forget, I finished two other quilts this month! Whew! I'm crazy!
The churn dash quilt was made from batiks and a metallic fabric, and it looks so much more stunning in real life. This was recently given to a wonderful family friend, and it is much loved.
The Quilty Fun quilt was finished at the beginning of the month. It is currently at a local quilt show that will start in one week. I can't wait to see it on a wall. It's the first time I've entered a piece into a quilt show.

FAL Q2 goal post here.
Happy Stitching,
I should be able to quilt up 2 quilts this month. I should finish them, right? After all, last month I did just about NOTHING! :)
First up is Quilty Fun...
Second up is Hugs & Kisses...
And I ordered up some fabric for a churn dash quilt. This one will be a quick quilt for a good friend who is out with knee replacement surgery. Chop, chop. I better get going before he's all healed up!
Sorry, no pictures. The fabric hasn't been delivered yet.
That's it for April.
For the second quarter, I hope to also finish an Aeroplane bag, a flower pillow, and my sister-in-law's chicken quilt binding. Apparently, when someone finds out you can bind by machine, they stop hand binding and just give the quilt to you to finish! The conversation went something like this, "Here. You do it. It's only been sitting for two years. I don't need it back soon." I guess my sister-in-law really hates hand binding too!

Happy Stitching,
I'm back to blogging...April Fools! Just kidding, I am back to blogging.
March began with doing taxes and finished with putting our rental house on the market. I'm so glad it's April! It feels like new beginnings, even though it seems like the winter rains just arrived in Northern California. I guess it's April showers.
In the midst of painting and scrubbing grout, I did a little sewing in March. The youngest ginger decided to start sitting on the potty all by herself. So, I made some training underwear for her. It felt good to use up leftover PUL and bamboo terry from my cloth diaper making days. I'm procrastinating on actually beginning potty training. Ginger #2 seems ready. I, on the other hand, am not. Wish us luck in advance!
I also caught up on the Quilty Fun Sew Along. This block is a good reminder for me as I wait for the house to sell...Bee Happy!!! (And not my usual worried and doubting self.)
I hope to finish the quilt top by the end of this week. As part of ALYoF, March was an epic failure. However, I have big plans for April as my sewjo returns. I'll be finishing Quilty Fun and the Hugs & Kisses quilts.
