Panda-Monium Free Mini Quilt Pattern

Isn't this panda the sweetest thing? I think so! The ladies at the Fat Quarter Shop created her as part of their Sew Solid video series for their YouTube channel.

The Sew Solid series will focus on modern novelty blocks that you can turn into mini projects, or make several of the blocks for a big quilt. The latest Sew Solid quilt is this adorable Panda block...She was fun and so simple to make.

Ginger #1 instantly declared that this panda belongs to her, and I agreed wholeheartedly.

I decided to make her into a pillow for Ginger #1. A panda needs to be full and portly, in my opinion. I had a lot of fun quilting her on my new fusion...

Eek! I've been pinching myself for almost two weeks now. I had been searching used longarm ads for awhile (longarmuniversity.com). A Handi Quilter Fusion with all the right features and a pro-stitcher finally appeared. It was located 15 minutes away from me! It was meant to be because I picked it up the day after my birthday. Best birthday present EVER!!! (even if this is strictly for my longarm business)

Come join the panda party! You can find the free pattern here, the video here, and the Panda-Monium quilt kit can be found here.

Kaffe Fassett Fruit Salad Quilt

This was such a fun quilt. A month ago, Sherry brought me this Kaffe Fassett Fruit Salad (pattern from the book Quilts en Provence) quilt. Oh, I love this summery quilt!

It's a big quilt too, 84" x 93". So, it was difficult to get a full shot. Sherry chose to have it quilted with all-over free motion swirls...perfect choice. I used Isacord thread in apricot...a thread color that goes nicely with the whole fruit salad theme.

Sherry, thank you so much for letting me quilt for you!

Wedding Presents

It has been some crazy few weeks here at the Ginger house! Between the end of year school parties, graduations, birthdays, awards, concerts, and moving furniture, there was a wonderful wedding too. My husband's best friend got married last weekend.

I came across some wine tote patterns, and I chose to make this one for the bride and groom.
ggg20150610_01
I need to make one for myself! I don't know when I will use it, but it's such a great idea...mine needs a divider to hold two bottles though!

The groom's sister, Kay, has been a longarm customer of mine for awhile. I always love the quilts she brings me. This was no exception. Kay mixed the bride and groom's favorite colors, batiks in red and blue, and she used a patriotic backing to support both of their service to our country. The quilt had a seaside, hawaiian vibe. I like how the stippling mimics the coral patterns in the quilt. Thank you, Kay, for letting me quilt this one!

This quilt was the last to be quilted on my HQ16. I upgraded machines over the weekend! I will share more soon, but I still have one more quilt to share before the big reveal.
