A Finish: Warsaw Mermaid

I have unashamedly blogged about this mermaid pillow for the last three days straight. But I LOVE it that much! I'm so happy how it turned out. The foundation paper piecing pattern is at Sewing Under Rainbow.

Ginger #1 has not seen the finished pillow yet. She will have to wait until her birthday in January. I cannot wait!

The quilting looks a bit like thread barf...it's sloppy. I really struggle with quilting. My quilting machine doesn't have a stitch regulator. So, I just go for it and quilt fast, often ending up with thread barf. OK, i like saying thread barf. Practice, practice, practice.

I do like, however, the quilted heart that landed in the mermaid's hands. I didn't plan that. It just happened. :) The finished pillow is 25-inches.

  1. It's so pretty! In the photos it doesn't look like thread barf but my fear of thread barf is what has kept me from FMQ on a REAL project. I really do need to just take the plunge with it soon!

  3. I don't care that you've blogged this for three days. I care that you completed this oh-my-goodness-how-did-she-do-that project in three days. It's amazing. And from this angle, I see no thread barf :-)
