Log Cabins and Panels

Willa Mae brought me this marvelous log cabin quilt.  
Here's a peak at all of Willa Mae's wonderful border work which had this quilt measuring 106 inches square with the four borders.

We chose to quilt this with an all-over hot cocoa pattern in taupe thread.

Willa Mae also had me quilt this darling baby quilt, and I love the panel fabrics on this quilt.

The loopy dragonfly motif works so well on this sweet quilt, and the ivory thread doesn't take anything away from the wonderful panel blocks.

Music, Geometry, and Fall

Carol brought me this cheerful charity quilt to raise money for a local music program. 
This quilt is sure to be treasured by any lover of music.

The back of this quilt is wonderfully pieced as well. The music motif continues on the back.
Carol's quilt was quilted with an all-over vertical spiral pattern in black thread. 

Next, Carol brought me this wonderful modern quilt in blues and greens.

I love how this geometric pattern works on this modern quilt. I used navy blue thread to match the background fabric.

Finally, Carol brought me this delightful quilt. 

The colors of gold and berry in the quilt nudged me to go with a fall pattern of all-over leaves in ochre thread.

Irish Chain and Simplicity

Willa Mae created this lovely Irish Chain quilt with beautiful solid fabrics.

It's so simple, and then she added those wonderful borders.

I quilted this with a lovely all-over hibiscus pattern in ivory thread which shows beautifully on the solid fabrics.
Willa Mae loved this cardinal fabric, and so she created a simple quilt using the width of the fabric and large borders. It's a perfect "man quilt" and a great way to finish a quilt fast.
I quilted a holiday spray all-over pattern in taupe thread. It's simple, and it's perfect.

Lots of Quilts

Jan brought me four lovely quilts for longarm quilting. The first one is a sweet girly quilt with an appliqué horse.

Jan chose an equally sweet all-over horse motif in ivory thread.

It all makes for a very whimsical quilt for a horse-loving girl.

The next quilt is filled with airplanes. The airplanes have gone to the dogs. I love that fabric!

Jan chose an all-over airplane and cloud motif in light blue thread.

It turned out super cool.

Jan loves horses, and this next quilt really proves it. Look at all that wonderful horse fabric.

Jan chose another horse motif in brown thread.

The last quilt is a wonderful batik lap quilt. 

Jan chose an all-over spiral pattern in lime thread. I love the lime thread on the deep blue blocks.

Funny Cow Appliqué

My quilt guild had one of those quilt challenges, and that's how my funny cow wall hanging was created. It's a bit funky, but none-the-less loved. I drew the cow by hand, and then used raw-edge appliqué.  I finished it with custom quilting.

Morning Star Quilt

Willa Mae made this beautiful Morning Star quilt as a wedding present for her grandson and his bride. The bride and groom chose these wonderful colors.

This is a BIG quilt (96"x111"). Every quilt that Willa Mae has brought me has been big, even the baby quilts. 

I quilted this with an all-over twisted feather design in grey thread.

Shimmering Triangle Quilt

Carol made this beautiful Shimmering Triangle quilt with Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

I used a twisted feather pantograph with gold thread.

This is such a beautiful and colorful quilt.

Carol found and chose the perfect backing for the quilt.

The Quilt Barn

Carol brought me her barn quilt for custom quilting. I am delighted at the results. This is truly an heirloom.

This quilt is filled with wonderful barns and chickens. Carol made fabulous fabric choices for her piecing work.

Can you see the cow quilted in the barn? This quilt has so many surprises.

There's a dog on the side of the barn and a cat in the barn window.

I used taupe thread throughout this quilt.

The chickens have 3-dimensional wings, another fantastic detail!

The comb of the chicken is two hearts! So cute, and I was able to outline quilt this raw-edge appliqué.

Each barn block tells a story. This day is made for flying a kite.

This barn block is bit too blustery. It's best to stay inside on these days.

This barn block is like the perfect weather day. It's definitely spring, and do you notice the dove on top the barn?

I love how Carol put a picture of her and her husband in the center barn of this quilt.

This is the horse barn with a quilted sheep roaming outside.

Here is a very patriotic chicken. Is she laying patriotic eggs too?

I had to take a lot of pictures of this finished quilt. There is just so much to share.
